PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Law and Development Associates (LADA) consulted for the development of the project proposal, work plan and budget of the Constitution review exercise. The Team Leader of LADA worked as the Executive Secretary and Principal Researcher in charge of the entire administrative and technical team; to generate and deploy key strategies for the realization of the Commission's mandate.

The key staff of LADA also managed the following portfolios:

The Consultation Manager prepared and deployed an elaborate consultations strategy, holding over one thousand meetings in all the 170 districts, hundreds of communities, and 10 regions in Ghana as well as 14 diaspora locations. A seamless National Constitution Review Conference was also held in March 2011 which was streamed live on television and on the internet.

The Communications Manager developed and deployed a communications strategy that addressed media concerns through communication interface tools including the website, social networking sites, and publications. The Manager utilised many other publicity materials for the dissemination of relevant information.

The Research Manager developed and deployed a comprehensive research strategy, utilising current software to analyse the over 85,000 issues collected and received.

The Monitoring and Evaluation and Documentation Manager developed and deployed a comprehensive strategy for monitoring both internal and external activities and performance of the Commission. Remedial measures were taken in most cases, and success rewarded in others. The Manager prepared comprehensive documentation of all the Commissions' activities, in both soft and hard copies.

The researchers mobilised stakeholders at the grassroots level, while working with the District Assemblies and the National Commission for Civic Education. The researchers also facilitated the consultative meetings and produced reports of the meetings, supported the analysis of the data collected, and supported the preparation of the final report for the Commission.
