A One month programme aimed at equiping the skills of police prosecutors has ended in accra with 50 police prosecutors undergoing training to improve upon their skills and knowledge in the quality of prosecution in the country.

The training formed part of about 400 ghanaian police prosecutors to be trained over a 1 year period in accra .

The training was led by the law and development association (lADA) institute and funded by the united states through the international narcotis and law enforcement affairs.

The police prosecutors were trained over a four week training period,which included courts visits,lectures,mock training and classroom practical exercise.

MANAGING DIRECTORS ADVICE

The group managing director of the lada institute Mr Mark ofori Amanfo in his address to close the ceremony said effective police prosecution formed an intergral part of the justice delivery system to enforce the law,maintain law ,order,peace and stability of the country.

He said plans had been made to provide training for all the remaining police prosecutors to ensure all police prosecutors in the country were all given the same training.

Mr john Oduro �n assistant superintendent of the Ghana police service thanked the lada institute ,the US government and the international narcotics and law enforcement affairs for organising the training session for the police prosecutors.

He said the training would go a long way to equip the officers to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.He noted that the training had helped the officers to update their knowledge of the changing trends in the prosecution system.
