PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In January 2017, the Ghana Oil Conference was organised by LADA Institute with funding from Open Society Foundations and IBIS in Ghana (now known as Oxfam IBIS). The conference was held to explore and discuss divergent opinions on progressive petroleum policies, to consider how petroleum revenues may be distributed to reach the marginalised section of the society. It was also held to discuss how the obvious and hidden externalities and costs of the petroleum enterprise (including environmental costs), may be managed in an intelligent way, and to deliberate on specific advocacy strategies that might be used to realise solutions to each specific issue.
